The flat was beautifully decorated and clean when we arrived, and the woman I booked with had sounded cheerful on the phone. Even so, our stay wasn't a good experience, and I didn't feel the management was child friendly. We'd booked two nights to visit the Dorset area and take the steam train to Carfle castle. On our last day, our son was unwell, so we skipped the train and went downstairs, one floor below, for breakfast. He stayed in the room while we ate. Sue thought it wasn't safe to leave him there and complained to us about it. That surprised us. We hadn't given any reason to think we were careless or behaving badly, and felt there was no need to overprotect someone without a reason. The way the situation was handled made us feel the management wasn't prepared for families. We didn't have a good time there.

Room 4 had a large, comfortable bed and was furnished to a good standard. Breakfast was something to behold, and Sue's friendly, hospitable manner made our weekend feel extra special. The location worked well too, close to the beach and restaurants but far enough away from the bustle.

Sue was a lovely host and made us a great breakfast. We had such an enjoyable stay that we're going back.
