We only spent one night here, so didn't have a chance to try everything the hotel offers. The room was a decent size for two of us and our bags, and having working air conditioning was lovely. The bathroom door just clears the toilet when you open or close it. We ate at the restaurant when it wasn't very busy, which helped, since there were only two staff working. One seemed genuinely interested in what was happening, and the other person's enthusiasm more than made up for that. It was a nice hotel, and I'd stay again if I was in the area.

It's in a quiet spot with nice walks and views, but still easy to get to. The staff were very good, and the rooms were clean and had what we needed, including USB charging points. Breakfast was great, and there was a good range of quality food in the restaurant.

The bar closes really early, but the food was good. It's a beautiful place with nice walks around the hotel, especially if you get good weather. Room [116] is small, fine for one night, but not big enough for two people on a longer stay.

We found the prices surprisingly reasonable compared with pubs and coffee shops, and people were stopping in for a drink after walking around Stanton Park. Stanton House could do more to promote itself as a relaxed, dog-friendly place to eat or have a drink, indoors or outside, when visiting the park. We enjoyed traditional afternoon tea in the conservatory, looking out over Stanton Park. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious and nicely presented, and all the staff were pleasant and friendly.

I can't speak from personal experience about the rooms or location, but my parents felt so welcome and were looked after wonderfully. The staff went out of their way to make the visit special. They came for their golden wedding anniversary, shortly after my Mum got the all clear from cancer, and everyone helped make their stay truly memorable. Thank you all so much.
