The Kings Arms

The room was small, but very clean and just right for a short stay. I missed having a full-length mirror, and the raised shower step was easy to miss against the floor, so we stubbed our toes on it several times. The shower gel was labelled as hand wash. Breakfast was ordered at check-in, and we were asked what time we'd come. We chose 9am, within the 9-10am breakfast window, but waited 35 minutes at our table for the two breakfasts. They were nice when they arrived, though a little cold. The tea and coffee station had teabags but didn't seem to have hot water for tea. The location is handy for Old Town, with lots of good restaurants, bars and pubs nearby. Avoid a Saturday stay if you want a quiet night, as the disco below plays music until around 3am. We were out, so it didn't affect us.

The room was comfortable and a good price, and the staff were great. Breakfast was awesome too. Friday is party night, with music going until 02:00. We had a great time, but keep that in mind if you want a quiet night.

The rooms are lovely, the staff are friendly, and there's a good high street full of shops. It can get noisy with the bars and loud music. The shower was hot, though not boiling. The towels smelled like they'd been washed in a fryer. Breakfast was delicious, but not hot.

The glass collector was lovely and polite, and deserves recognition for trying to do a good job. The bar staff were horrible and bitchy, especially the manager. A young glass collector had just spilled and broken my glass of wine, so I explained what happened and asked if they could replace it. The bar lady and manager snapped at me and spoke to me like crap. It cut our girls' night short for no good reason. Neither of them showed any customer service skills, just pure rudeness. If zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give.
