We had everything we needed for cooking, even an air fryer, and the hosts were happy to help with anything. The room was spacious, with a kitchen and living area, plus a really comfortable bed and a huge duvet. It was handy for exploring the countryside, and we could also walk into Tamworth along the pretty canal. Driving in was easy too. We'd recommend it.

I stayed here for work during lockdown. My ground-floor room, in what I think was a converted stable, was a decent size and perfectly fine. The bed was comfortable, with no lumps or springs poking through. The shower was small, and in summer the cellar spiders were all over the place. I was allowed to bring my cat, which he loved. The cleaner let him out during the day while she worked, and he even became an honorary office staff member, nudging their dog out. I only found out when I got a message saying, “your cat is in the office with us.” It was self-catering at the time, so I can’t comment on the food. I’d stay again if I needed to.

The rooms had an old-fashioned feel, but I thought that added to their charm, and the staff were so helpful. Breakfast was delicious, and they made sure we had what we needed. I’d definitely come back and would recommend the hotel.

The pub they suggested was close by and nice, and breakfast was marvellous. My family and I were treated like royalty. The standard rooms were cosy and lovely, though I’d suggest booking a Superior room because it’s especially spacious and unique. You should go!

I’m disgusted by how my parents were treated. I’d phoned ahead to arrange a room for my disabled dad and specifically asked that his disability not be mentioned, or that they let on I’d told them. When they arrived, they were left waiting because another booking had a similar name and time. Then the receptionist asked my dad, “You’re disabled, but are you ok with stairs?” It made my parents feel uncomfortable and singled out straight away, when I’d wanted them to have a relaxing stay. Nobody should be spoken to in a belittling way like that. I emailed the hotel and got a generic apology. I hope other disabled guests who just want to feel normal at check-in aren’t put through the same thing. I won’t recommend this hotel after the embarrassment and poor service my parents experienced.
