We had a really nice stay, and the owners gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived at Barmore. The cottage was lovely and well equipped. As we're both disabled, being able to park close to the front door was a real bonus. We really appreciated the welcome pack in the fridge, with smoked salmon and oatcakes, tablet, milk and fruit. A couple of things didn't work for us. The shower is over the bath, so we couldn't use it, though we knew that beforehand. The cottage also felt quite cold even with the heating on full and the log burner going, so bring warm clothes. Still lovely all the same, and we'll definitely return sometime.

It's well placed for trips to Arran and Islay, and the self catering setup makes it easy to come back and cook. The facilities are great, and it may cost about half as much as some nearby hotels. Just don't count on TV or internet, as the signals for both are weak.
