The hut was spotless, tidy and supplied with the essentials, and the bed was super cosy with lovely views. I especially liked the small outdoor space and the path through the meadow beside it. It feels secluded, but civilisation is only about 20 minutes away. Communication was great from the start, and the location is just right. Such a hidden gem, I’d highly recommend a visit.

Set on a farm near Tarporley, this makes a good place to switch off for a weekend. There’s a little patio and BBQ where you can enjoy the Cheshire countryside. The hut has a microwave, gas hob and small fridge freezer, though there’s no WiFi or cooker or oven. Delamere train station is about 18 minutes away by car, or Hartford is around 15 minutes for the Chester to Crewe mainline. For places to visit, Chester city centre is roughly 25 minutes away, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet about 20, Delamere Forest 15, and Hollies Farm Shop 10.

We slept so well in the comfortable bed and would love to come back. The hut had useful equipment including a fridge freezer and microwave, and the hosts sent helpful directions and information. Outside, it was lovely to sit quietly and take in the beautiful views, with birdsong and horses for company.

I was surprised with this trip for my birthday and enjoyed every minute. The shepherd’s hut sits in a peaceful, idyllic spot in the Cheshire countryside, with wide panoramic views. William was a fantastic host when needed. A wonderful place for anyone who loves the outdoors.

The farm setting is isolated and you may hear animals or encounter dirt, as you’d expect on a working farm. That suited what I was looking for. My one night here was fantastic, peaceful, clean and faultless. 👍👍👍😀
