Clarence House Hotel

We booked for two nights, but enjoyed it enough to stay five. The room was clean and basic, with a lovely sea view, and the location in Tenby was great. Staff were super helpful and friendly, the bar food and drinks were nice and good value, and there was entertainment every night. We got a great deal that included breakfast, and I’d stay again and recommend it. My partner, dog and I were all made welcome. I especially loved that it’s pet friendly, and they even gave my dog a sausage at breakfast. Looking forward to coming back.

The whole stay felt warm and welcoming. I spent five lovely days here with my 86-year-old mum, and the staff, food and rooms were all lovely. We had a sea view and a small balcony to wake up to. There was entertainment every night, including bingo. A great place.

The location is great, the beds are comfy, and there’s a nice beer garden. But the rooms are tiny and dated. The shower’s so cramped you could wash your feet while sitting on the toilet. See photos. The tall barman with glasses was very rude when we came back to the bar and demanded to see our room key. A smaller barman asked another guest politely, explaining that it was policy because they only serve residents. The tall one had a plain rude attitude. Thankfully, we only paid for breakfast on the first morning. We sat for 10 minutes before I asked a waitress where to get tea and orange juice. She took our order, which had only one option, two cooked breakfasts, and they arrived in under a minute. Everything was cold, and both the hash browns and toast were badly burnt and inedible.

This is a two-star Victorian hotel on the seafront, catering mainly for coach parties. The rooms differ in size and facilities, but ours was perfectly adequate for four nights and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. The set-menu meals had a few choices and were acceptable. The bar was well stocked, with entertainment.
