The barn at The Woolpack was a beautiful wedding venue when we got married there in November 2025. Duane and Gary were especially helpful and went above and beyond throughout the planning, making us feel like the most important people they had to deal with. The whole day went perfectly, with amazing food and friendly staff. We stayed overnight in a stunning room full of character from the old building, then had an amazing breakfast. The staff were accommodating to all of us in the morning as well. I’d recommend The Woolpack and the barn for any event.

We’ve just come back from a night at the Woolpack and would stay again. It was good value, the cooked breakfast was great, and the pub had a nice atmosphere. Our quirky room overlooked the church and had everything we needed, including a very comfortable bed. The manager, “the middle aged man with the beard”, was friendly, helpful and amusing, unlike what a previous reviewer had found.

A lovely pub with plenty to choose from on the menu. I had a great time here with my parents. If you’re watching your budget, the mac and cheese is £6, a fantastic dish and a generous portion. I’d come back for that alone, though the menu will tempt you to order more.

We stayed in the apartment for one night on Christmas Day while visiting family nearby. The staff were communicative before we arrived, and helpful and friendly whenever we spoke with them. The room was better than expected, and the breakfast menu was fabulous. We’d definitely stay again.

Dwayne and the team on duty on Sunday 11 January, both front of house and in the kitchen, made my husband's 70th birthday special with wonderful food and a warm welcome. We had to change venues at the last minute, and they went out of their way to make it work for us. I highly recommend The Woolpack and its team.
