Ranvilles Farm House

We had a really lovely time and plan to return. The converted barn at morning side Ranville’s farm house is furnished to a very high standard, with a super-comfy bed and a top-class bathroom. Everything was spotless. There’s a huge garden for walking the dog, plus a large meadow. No complaints at all, highly recommend it.

The host was so welcoming and friendly, and gave us excellent directions even though the place was easy to find. There’s lots of parking and four acres of secure grounds for walking the dogs. Our dog-friendly room had two very comfortable beds, and I had my best night’s sleep. It was warm and cosy, with lovely sheets and enormous towels, plus an amazing shower. Plenty of tea and coffee in big cups, fruit waiting on a plate, and lovely toiletries were nice touches. Breakfast was in a sumptuous dining room, with fruit, yoghurt, bread and cereal from the buffet, then a beautifully cooked English breakfast with toast and croissant. Such a relaxed atmosphere. We’ll definitely stay again.

Breakfast was a real highlight, served in an elegant room at a carefully laid table. There was a wide choice, including gluten-free bread, sauces and homemade jams. The hosts have thought of so many little comforts: tea including fruit teas, coffee and hot chocolate in the room, plus shampoo, shower gel and other bathroom basics. The bedroom was a good size, and the small ensuite worked perfectly. The shower had loads of hot water. With beautiful gardens, plenty of parking and the privilege of staying in a listed building, it felt a world away from modern, clinical living. Cosy and comfortable, with an old-fashioned elegance. The hosts are gracious and efficient, and make the stay feel homely. It compared with a five-star hotel.

The hosts gave us such a lovely welcome, and the accommodation was excellent. It has a quirky feel that suits the old building, but they’ve made sure all the comforts are there. I’d definitely return.
