South Park Farm Barn

We stayed for one night in February 2022, and the five dogs were adorable, friendly, well behaved and welcoming little co-hosts. The hosts made us feel like family from the moment we got out of the car, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The place was spacious, clean and well presented. Breakfast was five-star, with the hosts checking our preferences in advance. They timed the tea just right, and made sure I had oat milk and even vegan butter. They really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

The grounds around the barn are breathtaking, and it was so quiet and peaceful. Even with five dogs, I wasn’t disturbed once. They were friendly and came over to say hello without jumping up. The place was spotless too, not a dog hair in sight. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a family home and hotel, but I wasn’t disappointed. My room had a double bed and a couch, both really comfortable, and the bedding was so soft I melted into it. I had the best sleep. There was a large TV with Sky, tea and coffee facilities, two fans, and a big roof window to keep the room cool. The bathroom was separate, across from the room, and huge, with an amazing shower. There’s no key for the door because it’s a family home, but it has a privacy lock so you can lock yourself in at night. Breakfast is made to order, with a fantastic choice. The owners knew the local area well and told me the quickest route to the race track and where the shops were. At the end, I got a lovely thank-you card, such a heartwarming touch. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The barn made for such a calm stay before my wedding. I was there with my sister and mother the night before, and Casie and Ian were attentive, welcoming, and took time to get to know us. The rooms are finished to a high standard. They also care about sustainability and use local produce, which tasted great. The friendly Golden Retrievers were an added bonus. Thanks, Casie and Ian, for a wonderful stay!

The breakfasts were excellent, and our room was comfortable and attractive in a lovely setting. The building itself is wonderful. Both the hosts and dogs made us feel welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. We were sorry to leave.
