Breakfast was so good, and the little thoughtful touches in our room really stood out. My husband and I stayed overnight after our works Christmas lunch, and the room was outstanding. The food at lunch was amazing, too, and every member of staff was brilliant. We scored it 20 out of 10. Thanks, we'll be back next year!

The pub is the real draw: cosy, full of character, with friendly locals, a proper log fire, and delicious food. We had a thoroughly charming stay in this beautiful historic place. Our room was clean and comfortable, with lots of thoughtful details, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

The food was fine, but our family dinner took an hour to arrive after we ordered. We had two children with us, and although the place was busy, I felt someone should have acknowledged the long wait or apologised.

Parking was the only problem with our lunch visit. The pub car park holds about five cars, and if it's full when you arrive, getting out seems almost impossible. There were bricks being stored there, too. Stockbridge is difficult for parking, so leave extra time if you've booked ahead. The service itself was faultless, and the food was good with generous portions.

We loved our stay and will definitely come back. The pub had a lovely warming fire, the staff were wonderfully friendly, and breakfast was delicious. Our room was beautifully clean and the bed really comfortable.
