What stands out most is the staff. Every person we met was friendly, polite, and eager to help. I had a large, heavy dog crate to bring upstairs, and three different staff members offered to carry it from the front door to the top floor without hesitation. That was typical of our interactions, every question was met with a real desire to help, and nothing felt like too much trouble. The hotel is right in central Tetbury, a lovely small town, and has an informal pub feel: bar at the front, a separate drinking and eating area on the right, and a restaurant further back. Our room was 12, one of the unrenovated rooms at the top. It was charming, peaceful, and private, and I'd choose it again any day. There are rooms on several floors, so check if you have accessibility needs. Parking is limited in the centre, but short stay parking is a minute away, a few more car parks are within 5 minutes on foot, and a large free long stay is about a 7 min walk away. The hotel and the rest of Tetbury are very dog friendly, and dogs are welcome everywhere. Food and breakfast were good, and I liked the beer choice, including several cask ales. There's lots to do nearby, with lovely shops and walks. We'll definitely come back.

We came from Cardiff,Wales on 28/11/25 for a memorable lunch in this beautiful setting. The staff gave us such a warm welcome that my partner and I felt completely at home. The food was great and the Guinness was superb. We couldn't fault what we experienced, and we'll most certainly be back soon to stay the night. Thanks so much for the warm hospitality. See you soon! Parking makes this place a little tricky to visit, but Chris, our waiter, was fantastic when we arrived late for our booked afternoon tea. He was friendly, professional, and attentive. The sandwiches and cake were delightful. Highly recommended.

The service was spectacular, and the staff were super friendly and attentive to everything. The pie was delicious, and the steak was cooked perfectly. I also loved the paintings of different dogs as dukes and lords.
