Homelands Bed and Breakfast

It’s a comfortable, peaceful two floor house that’s part of the owners’ place but private, with its own entrance. Upstairs are two generous double rooms, each with an ensuite and walk in shower; downstairs there’s a lounge and a small kitchen. The hosts are smashing. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the nearest pub or restaurant, and the racecourse is less than a quarter of an hour away by car.

The garden is fabulous, with fruit trees, a veg patch, pond, chickens and bees. There’s also a big shared living room for guests that opens onto decking. Our room at Homelands was spacious and comfortable, with a large bath and walk in shower. Breakfast was superb, both the full English and the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon we tried. All in all, a great place to relax and use as a base for exploring the area. Thanks again.

The welcome is lovely, and there’s a real generosity of spirit, especially at the amazing breakfast. It’s also a treat to be able to use the garden, lounge, and little kitchen, with a fridge, plates and microwave, and to stay in during the day if you like. The location is lovely too, and there’s a folder of helpful suggestions for guests. The room is attractive, well designed and comfortable, with useful touches like easy to reach charging points. I loved the strong shower.

The booking and check in and check out were all very straightforward, and the hosts were great. We found the living space, kitchen and bedroom spacious, clean and well put together. Everything was comfortable, and all the details seemed to be covered.
