We’d happily come back. The farmhouse, Bage Pool, is more than 400 years old and has been renovated, with a huge back garden, a large private lounge, and a twin bedroom with its own bathroom. The owners were attentive and very welcoming. It’s near Hay on Wye, with lovely rolling countryside and attractive villages around. There’s also the owners’ internet based book barn nearby, with over 60,000 books. WiFi was good, though our Three mobile signal was weak. We had a sunny weekend there.

Emma and Simon were lovely hosts. The house is beautiful, and so is the garden.
