Premier Inn Woking West (A324)

We’re regular Premier Inn guests across the country and have rated them all highly, but the one in Woking has been exemplary. Tara at reception was approachable and very helpful, and Rochelle in the restaurant was just as welcoming. There was lots of choice on the evening meal menu, and the food was good quality and good value.

We stay at Premier Inns regularly, and the Woking West team deserves special praise for its customer service. Lisa ran the breakfast restaurant efficiently on her own, and Rochelle was equally hospitable in the restaurant. Both were excellent. My ham, eggs, and chips weren’t all good, though. The eggs were so overcooked that I couldn’t eat them.

The breakfast had a decent continental selection, including pastries, muffins, bread, and refillable apple or orange juice. I enjoyed the unlimited cooked breakfast too, although my plate was a bit watery, which wasn’t great with the few eggs I’d ordered. There was often only one person serving breakfast, so I felt they were short-staffed. The staff I met were friendly. I liked the location beside Basingstoke Canal, which runs through Woking town centre. The centre and railway station are a 15-minute walk away. The hotel has what I wanted: a TV, WiFi, its own car park, a bar and restaurant, an ensuite with hot water, and, most of all, my own bed. It was very clean, and I really enjoyed my stay. Good value for money. I’d definitely recommend this Premier Inn over the central Woking hotel. Woking West has its own car park, unlike Woking Central, and better views. It’s also right by Basingstoke Canal.

The food took over an hour to arrive, and when it did, it was cold. The microwaved sticky toffee pudding took 35 minutes. There are holes in the corridor flooring that have been carpeted over, so if you feel one, break a bone and sue ’em. Tara at reception was lazy and rude, with an attitude, and refused to tell me her name, though unfortunately I found out anyway. Olga, the manager, was disrespectful and told a customer to “shush” in front of me while she was making a complaint. This is the worst premiere inn I’ve ever stayed in. If there are any alternative hotels in the area, for the love of god, go with them.
