The Barn

We were sorry to leave after our four days at The Barn, but already looking forward to coming back. It’s such a warm, homely place to unwind. The welcome basket was a real treat, and we spent hours in the hot tub each evening with a few glasses of wine 😊.

Northallerton is only minutes away, with shops, supermarkets, and pretty much anything you might need. The location feels nicely placed, close enough to things without being too close. We’re already planning to return in five months, and 5 stars hardly seems enough. The house was spotless, warm, spacious, and comfortable. There’s a well stocked kitchen, a lovely welcome basket, and games to play. The hot tub is beautiful and huge, and it was ready when we arrived. Everything was so well catered for. Cliff was an amazing host, there when needed but also giving us plenty of peace. Even though it’s a working farm, we barely heard anything. It was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. The house has loads of pamphlets and information about things around all of yorkshire, which was incredible. This was the best stay we’ve ever had. Thank you so much, Cliff! Can’t wait to come back.

Cliff gave us helpful ideas before we arrived, and recommended a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Coore Arms in nearby Scruton. We had a fabulous stay at the barn, with everything we needed and indoor and outdoor games to keep the children occupied. The hot tub was amazing, and the space was just right for our family of four. It also made a great base for days out by car. We visited Northallerton, Thirsk, Ripon, and Knaresborough, as well as Monk farm and RHS Harlow Carr. We’d love to come back.

We keep coming back. Great place, and Cliff and the staff are really helpful and know a lot about places to visit.
