The staff were so friendly, and the service was excellent. There were plenty of good choices on the menu, and I really enjoyed the food. I’ll be back soon.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay at the hotel, with a clean room, a warm welcome, a great town view, and fantastic towels in the bathroom. The restaurant was the main reason for this review, though. The food was straightforward comfort cooking, done really well. The steak pie was flawless, with tender beef, incredibly flaky pastry, and the best gravy I’ve had. The vegetables were cooked just right, and the banoffee dessert’s brandy snap base was delicious. We also tried the soup of the day, a Thai-inspired coconut and squash soup that had the warmth of a harvest soup but felt light enough for summer.

The rooms were amazing, very clean, and had all the amenities, including a bath. It was extremely busy, so the service was slow, which was understandable. Even so, the service was really top notch.

The restaurant was so good. We stayed one night, and the rooms were clean with heated mats in the beds. The only downside was how freezing cold the rooms were.
