The restaurant handled our tour group really well, and the staff were efficient, friendly, and seemed to anticipate what we needed. Our room was warm and very clean, with a comfortable bed and a modern en suite with a big shower. We were happy with the facilities and service, and would gladly return. Thanks to the staff and management for making our trip to the North of Scotland so enjoyable.

The breakfast was poor: a tiny serving on a side plate, with one poached egg and half a tomato when that’s what I’d asked for. The food seemed very cheap, and I paid £133 for a stay that felt worth about £70-80. The room was dated and grubby, with stained furniture that brought student accommodation to mind. The WiFi didn’t work either. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.

Right in the town centre, close to most things. The staff were friendly and helpful when I checked in, and the room had everything I needed for a night.

The smoked haddock macaroni cheese was a brilliant combination, and my wife’s roast pork belly was just as outstanding. We had a terrific three course dinner, with a choice of set menu and specials that made deciding tough. The staff welcomed us warmly and were quick and attentive, and the meal for two came to about £66, not including drinks. For the quality and service, we thought it was excellent value. We were so impressed that we’re planning to make it a regular treat.

Our room, Apartment 35, was spotlessly clean, though the bathroom skirting needed paint and the wash basin was cracked. The staff were friendly, polite, and professional. It’s apartments rather than a hotel, and there was no evening entertainment. The high-cuisine menu also wasn’t to a lot of the passengers’ taste.
