Briarfields Hotel

The location is great, parking beside the room is handy, and most of the staff were friendly. The room offering felt much better than the food, which really let the stay down when we wanted a decent dinner after a day outside. I wouldn't recommend eating here beyond breakfast. The dinner menu is limited and the food was worse: my over-spiced pulled pork became an unappetising mess even with plenty of sauce, and the chips were undercooked. The burger bun was dull, with lettuce chopped so finely it disappeared into the mayonnaise. The chocolate tart was so hard that the one spoon provided wasn't enough to break into it, and the ice cream melted while I chased it around a huge plate. The menu sounded falsely exotic to me, as if that covered up cheap ingredients and poor execution.

The venue was beautiful, and the food tasted good. Service was a little slow, but with such a large wedding party that was understandable. I'd go back.

Our room at Briarfields Hotel was spacious, nicely furnished and very clean, with enough comfort and space to feel like good value. The hotel sits in a lovely spot for exploring the area and the Norfolk coast. The young team clearly work hard to look after guests. Service was generally friendly and helpful, though a few staff seemed less cheerful. I couldn't tell whether they were tired or simply not enjoying the job. We liked the meals and their presentation, even if the food was solid rather than exceptional. A comfortable stay in a great location, with a warm welcome overall.

We had a wonderful time at our Christmas party at Briarfields Hotel. The food was excellent, thoughtfully prepared and nicely presented, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The room was spotless and comfortable, and I especially enjoyed the walk-in rainfall shower. I'd happily recommend a visit and hope to return.
