Travelodge Toddington M1 Southbound

The receptionist was friendly and really helpful, and the building and rooms were clean, though everything looked a bit tired. Noise was the big problem: the old windows barely kept out the motorway, the truck parking area to the right, or the railway behind. People seemed to be arriving and leaving throughout the night too, perhaps because they were stopping over for Luton Airport. I've stayed in quite a few Travelodges over the years, and this was easily the noisiest.

The room was quiet, and the location was handy, although it wasn't well signposted in the services. The mobile signal was appalling for all three of us, and the pillows were rubbish, as usual with Travelodge. Otherwise, it was okay. You get what you pay for, and the room and staff were okay.

The room was really clean, spacious and tidy, and the reception staff were great. It's on the M1 southbound, so handy for travelling from Luton Airport. This isn't one of the most modern Travelodges, but it's one of the best. We'll use it whenever we travel from Luton again.

The rooms are a good size, and the service centre facilities make the place very handy. It's a little out of the way, but the rates are always very good. I've stayed a couple of times. On my latest arrival the hot water wasn't working, but they fixed it quickly. Very good overall.
