The Gordon & Richmond Hotel

Jon and Les made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, with their warmth, humour and easy charm. Sharing food, drinks and laughter with them made an ordinary evening memorable, as though we'd known each other for years. We left with full hearts and lovely memories. The sitting room had a relaxed, timeless feel, somewhere to slow down and enjoy a good conversation, with a comfortable bit of smoke in the air. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated. In the morning, we had an excellent traditional Scottish breakfast, hearty and cooked with care. Gordon Inn is more than somewhere to sleep. The experience stays with you.

We booked the Family Suite at Gordon House, and it was big enough to feel like an apartment. Les was a warm, friendly host, and her Scottish breakfast with salmon was delicious. She also offers dinner for guests who'd like to eat in. Comfortable, warm and welcoming. I'd highly recommend Gordon House.

Liz made us feel at ease the moment we walked into Gordon House. She's the owner and the sunshine of the place, with an infectious smile and a kind heart. She was always ready to help and offer guidance, and was happy to cook us homely meals. She can definitely be a chatterbox, but we loved that about her. The property is a nice little place to rest, and we'd recommend it to anyone. I can't think of much to fault, maybe the hot and cold water mixer in the washbasin in the washroom.

This B&B felt like home, and it's easily the best I've stayed in over many years. I arrived very early, but Les greeted me warmly and quickly poured me a dram of local whisky. You can have your evening meal at the B&B, and I thoroughly recommend doing that. Les and John are truly lovely people and superb hosts. Les can really cook! One handy tip, make sure you don't need to drive anywhere too early the next day. All in all, a superb place to stay.
