Hampton by Hilton Torquay

This feels like a home from home for us. The hotel is in a great spot, and some rooms look out over the harbour. I always come back because the rooms are spotless, and I like being able to mirror my phone to the smart TVs. The gym has enough equipment for both cardio and weights. The staff are the best part. They’re always welcoming and happy to bring an extra pillow or towel. Iryna is very professional, and thanks to Caitlin for recommending a room, we really appreciate it. Kate and Meg work incredibly hard at breakfast, and I have a lot of time for them both.

There were plenty of breakfast choices, and the coffee from the machine was surprisingly good. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well, though its door was missing. I also liked the lift from reception down to the street. Our room faced the Premier Inn across the way, whose bright purple floodlights shone through a gap in the curtains. Still, we had a good two night stay and I’d come back. The hotel is nice and well located.

The House Keeping Team made my stay much more comfortable through their genuine care and helpfulness. I want to single out Aneta and Vanessa, who helped with my room service needs. Their dedication really impressed me, even if the role might seem less important to some. I appreciated their help enormously and hope the hotel gives both ladies formal recognition.

I booked three rooms and cancelled one within the policy period for a full refund. I was told the refund would be processed and a revised invoice sent, which I need for my claim. So far, neither has arrived, despite two phone calls, three in person conversations and two emails.
