Hotel Peppers

We were really looking forward to visiting Torquay, but our host's behavior spoiled the trip. The room we were assigned was very small and cramped, with little space for luggage. We thought we had booked a “Standard Double Room,” as stated in our confirmation email, but on arrival we were given a room called “Standard Double Room Compact.” It didn't match what we expected from the confirmation. This may have been an error in the description. We asked if we could change rooms, but nothing was available for the whole length of our stay. We wanted to leave it at that and enjoy the visit as much as we could. Instead, the host kept bringing it up again and again, trying to get us to admit we were at fault. He was rude and aggressive, and kept arguing when we asked several times if we could just drop it. If he hadn't acted that way, our review would have been better. There are other things I could mention about what he said and did, but I just want to forget the whole thing.

The harbour is only a couple of minutes away, and there’s parking at the rear, which is a real bonus. From the fold-out balcony we could let in plenty of air and light and look over Torwood Gardens towards the harbour. The people running Hotel Peppers were so friendly and helpful. The place was spotless and my room had everything I needed, from tea and coffee facilities to a mini-fridge. It was spacious too, with a comfortable king-size bed, desk, large TV and two armchairs. A lovely place to stay.

San & Sabita did so much to make us feel looked after at this family-run hotel. The breakfast was a 10 out of 10, and the room was spacious with the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room and a mini-fridge just outside the door. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Paul & Sharon x

The rate was very reasonable, and the staff were super friendly. My single room was quiet, comfortable and well set up, with a good shower. I stayed one night and will definitely return.
