The birthday cake Peter and Helen surprised my partner with was such a personal, thoughtful touch, and their care throughout made our stay unforgettable. They welcomed us warmly from the start and paid attention to all the little details. The Somerville was spotless, stylish, beautiful and really comfortable, with everything prepared for a relaxing visit. Breakfast was outstanding too, with plenty of choice and high-quality ingredients. We had a wonderful time and would recommend The Somerville to anyone looking for somewhere peaceful and charming in Torquay. We'll be back!

Breakfast was a real highlight, especially since they catered for me as a vegan. It may be the best hotel breakfast I've had. Helen and Peter were welcoming and helpful, and I'd definitely recommend The Somerville. It's an easy walk into Torquay, and there's parking at the hotel. The place has a quirky feel, with lots of lovely pictures. Our bedroom was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable.

We found this place while looking for somewhere to stay as we moved my daughter into the area. The rooms are lovely, nicely decorated and a bit quirky, and breakfast had an amazing amount of choice. We'll definitely be back ❤️

Breakfast was fabulous. Helen made it herself and surprised the guests with a different cake each day. Peter looked after things out front, was hilarious, and couldn't do enough for us. Helen and Peter have a fantastic place, with quality and luxurious fittings throughout. We'd definitely recommend it and will be back again and again.

Peter greeted the three of us warmly at the parking lot and shared some ideas for things to do in the city on a winter evening. We found the place beautiful inside, with a lovely sitting area in the reception room and amazing rooms, including treats as a gift. It was an easy walk to the centre, under 10 minutes.
