The room was large, spacious and very clean, with everything we needed, including a mini fridge and microwave. The bathroom was sparkling, and the bed was large and really comfortable. It’s close to old Trafford and the o2 Victoria warehouse. Great value for a stay. I’d definitely recommend it!

For what we needed, the hotel was perfectly located for nightlife and shopping. It was clean, and the room was large with plenty of facilities. The breakfast was lovely, though a little on the small side. The evening meal was a different story: the restaurant was overpriced, the food was horrible, and I’ve cooked better myself. The waiters couldn’t understand English and kept getting my order wrong. In the end I had to send two meals back, ask for the bill and leave without a main course. I’d stay at the hotel again, but I’d never eat in the restaurant.

I want to thank Hammad Shaheen, the hotel manager, and anyone else who helped send my lost property back after I left it behind. We stayed on New Year’s Day, and the five people in our group paid an average of about £43 per person. You just can’t find those prices in Manchester. It isn’t glitzy or glamorous, and the price reflects what you get. As long as we had a bed, we were happy. Our particular room also had a TV, kettle, iron and other basics, so it was more than well equipped for the price. You need to be happy with a rough-around-the-edges hotel if you book here. Don’t expect the kind of stay you’d get at a Hilton or one of the big chains. I’ve stayed in fancier places, but most of the time I’m out of the room anyway. All said and done, it did the job for us. If you’re not spending £££, don’t expect a four-star hotel experience. The price reflects what you get. If the price is similar to more luxurious bookings and that’s what you want, choose another option.

Getting into the place was a hassle because reception was unmanned, and I had to make several calls before anyone let me in. Once I finally found the room, it did lock properly, and the only staff member I saw was very friendly. The bathroom had no shower curtain, and its clear window looked straight into the adjoining area and the opposite building. There were tea marks on the wall and sweets left on the floor by the previous guest. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
