Old Trafford Guest House

We had a layover here with my aunt and cousin, and it was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. We arrived an hour early and had to wait in a filthy park because they wouldn’t let us in. Once in the rooms, the tables were greasy, the cleaning seemed nonexistent and there was piss on my bed. It had a wobbly ladder, so I slept on the floor. When I puked on the floor, they at least gave us cleaning spray. That’s the one reason this isn’t all 1 stars. 1.06 stars out of 5. Would NOT recommend.

The room stank, the shower leaked, and the curtains were damaged. There was mould, and both the mattress and pillows were stained. With COVID-19 restrictions and standards meant to be in place, builders working on a neighbouring property were allowed to walk in and use the toilet and facilities, despite having nothing to do with the guest house. The facilities were disgusting. Look at the photos and make your own mind up.

We planned to stay five nights but left after one. The downstairs room was filthy, with dangerous sockets hanging out of the walls, sticky surfaces, drug abusers in the kitchen and an awful stench. The mugs were dirty and there was no cutlery apart from two dirty knives. Artificial grass was hanging from a bedroom wall, and the “sanitised room” had handprints and dirt all over it. This place needs sorting out and is not fit for guests. During the pandemic, you’d think they’d take cleanliness more seriously, but they just don’t care here. We’re still waiting for the refund they agreed to send, but they refuse to pay it. Very unprofessional people.

After travelling for my grandmother’s funeral, all my partner and I wanted was a proper night’s sleep. Instead, guests were banging on our bedroom windows at 5 in the morning to get inside, since there’s no reception and the place is completely unmanned. If it wasn’t that, people were coming and going all night. The facilities weren’t as described, there was no TV on the wall, and the room was dirty. There were short, curly hairs in the bed when I pulled back the duvet. Awful experience. I’ll never return or recommend this place.
