We had such a good five-day, four-night stay at Anglesey Bungalows. It’s become a yearly trip for us. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to help, and if you follow the few sensible rules, like putting a fire blanket under the firepit, they leave you to enjoy things your way. Booking was easy and all the details came by email. There are plenty of ways to stay, from camping and campervan spots to bunkhouses, glamping pods and yurts. We found the place clean and comfortable, with good beds and units in different sizes, from one to three bedrooms, with showers or baths. The site has an indoor heated pool and a pub and restaurant. In the off season, the pub opens at 18:00. The kitchen was the one snag. Our unit had a washing machine and dishwasher, but no laundry or dishwashing pods, soap, cloths, towels or sponges. We had to make another trip to the shop and spent £40 before the kitchen was properly usable. The beach nearby is a short three-minute walk. Tesco Extra in Holyhead is about a ten-minute drive, and there’s a small, pricier Spar about five minutes away. Another lovely beach is two minutes by car, with limited free parking that’s rarely available off season, plus plenty of paid spaces. The ice-cream van at the public beach is a must, the woman there is so pleasant and the ice cream is incredible.
