The Trout Cafe has been great every time we’ve eaten there. Breakfast this morning was lovely, and the staff are consistently friendly and courteous. My family enjoyed it too, so I’m surprised by the negative comments. We’ll definitely be back.

I’d eaten here plenty of times back when it was a pub and we used to holiday nearby. Yesterday we stopped for a late lunch on the way home from a holiday farther south. The place still feels homely, with friendly service and good food. My roast vegetable pudding was delicious. I couldn’t manage cake after such a generous lunch, but my daughter’s lemon and blueberry slice looked lovely, and she said it tasted just as good.

The prices are high for food that’s poor quality. Breakfast with tea and toast comes to £18, since those aren’t included, and the meat was undercooked. Service was slow, and even at those prices you have to order at the bar and fetch your own cutlery. I’ve tried this place several times, but it hasn’t improved. I’ve also had extremely rude interactions with the owners before, and the high chairs were filthy. I’ll avoid it from now on.

Freshly cooked food across a great menu, and plenty of GF cakes to choose from. The cafe is clean and nicely decorated. Definitely worth stopping in.

We’ve enjoyed the food on the occasions we’ve eaten here. But three different times, we’ve parked after seeing the roadside sign say it was open, then found the place shut. Really irritating.
