Pencelli Hotel

We were sad to leave and would definitely come back if we're in the area again. The hospitality, rooms, food and views were all lovely. After the first place we'd booked had closed without telling us, we arrived at 9 p.m. with our young child and nowhere to stay. Pencelli and the staff came to our rescue and made us feel welcome from the moment we got there. Couldn't fault anything. Thank you so, so much for a lovely three days!

The rooms were beautiful and so clean, and the biscuits were a fab little extra. The only thing I'd suggest is a mirror above the vanity unit for doing your hair. There's a small mirror, but it's hard to style your hair with it. We stayed one night and would highly recommend the place.

Both meals I've had here were disappointing. The coleslaw was just sliced cucumber and onion in mayonnaise, served in a tiny bowl, with none of the shredded carrot or cabbage you'd expect. My caramelised onion tart had no onion in it, basically just a flat jam tart. Steamed broccoli was supposed to come with my son's meal but never appeared. Disappointing all round.

We had a lovely weekend at the Pencelli Hotel. The food was lovely, there were lots of drinks to choose from, and the rooms were nicely decorated. Everything was absolutely spotless, clearly cleaned to a very high standard by professional cleaners. We needed an iron, and Faye and Lisa were so helpful. They're the cleaners, and they keep the hotel beautifully clean. We'd recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.
