A few nights later we tried the pop up pizzas, and they were top notch. It was a busy evening so we waited a while, but I'd definitely recommend them. On our first visit, service was extremely quick, and the beer and wine were good. My husband enjoyed his ham, egg and chunky chips, and the fries were excellent. I was less impressed with my Brixham dressed crab, especially for £28. The brown to white meat ratio seemed about 85% to 15% at best, so it was very dry despite the lemon and mayo. I'd been looking forward to fresh Cornish crab, so I was disappointed, though I may just have chosen badly.

Breakfast was generous and well prepared, and the staff were polite and friendly. We were staying as part of a group for a nearby wedding party and had a great time. Our room was lovely, with a comfortable bed, nice linen, a large bathroom and shower, plenty of toiletries, and good towels.

We stayed in the cottage at The Tollgate Inn, and it was cozy, spotless, and a lovely place to come back to after a day walking around Bath. The location and atmosphere were great, and the food was too. I meant to take a photo of the signature Tollgate Burger, but it was gone before my phone even came out. Really good. The cottage looked so appealing I was thinking about Rightmove before breakfast. Would happily return, maybe just for the burger.

The best part was the people. Everyone was friendly and really good at sorting vegan options. The restaurant food was good too. The rooms are simple, but clean, tidy and nicely presented, with tea, coffee and biscuits. A very cute place.

We had lunch here for my Mum and Dad's 61st wedding anniversary. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff made us feel very welcome. They were friendly, helpful and attentive. Thank you.
