We had a lovely family holiday here from the 26th July to the 2nd August, and the views from the lounge over the Fal Estuary (I think) were superb. The accommodation sits right on the wall, and everyone enjoyed the week. I'd still recommend it, but I've given it 3 stars because a few things need attention for the price. They didn't spoil our stay, though. Parking is in the public car park, currently £35 for the week. I wonder if the owner could arrange a better rate for guests who book ahead. Inside, the downstairs bedroom has a huge bed, perhaps a bit too big, and some random folded chairs and a child's seat and table that would be better stored elsewhere. The rear kitchen is functional, though small for a place that can host around eight people. Upstairs are three more bedrooms, a bath/shower room and a toilet. The roof is low in the bathroom and toilet if you're 5'10 or taller, which is perhaps to be expected in an odd cottage-style building. The toilet handle kept coming apart. A note and screwdriver had been left, and I understand it's now fixed, but it should have been repaired before we arrived or a small refund offered for the inconvenience. Some cracked and peeling paint made parts of the interior feel neglected for what is meant to be top-quality holiday accommodation. At the rear are an outside toilet, shower/laundry rooms and a seating area above them. A bush-like plant grows out of the toilet wall, with a long explanation beside it. It's not my thing, and I wondered if it might be poisonous, especially with children staying. The outside washing machine and dryer are rusty, and the building could be made watertight and properly ventilated, though this was a minor issue. The steps up to the seating area were full of weeds and moss, the bushes were overgrown, and the seats could have been cleaned for the next guests. The shower/laundry room otherwise worked fine. These things need sorting if the owners want to make this a top-class property, but we did have a good week and weren't disappointed.

The cottage sits right on the front, with easy access to St Mawes centre and the ferry to Falmouth. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby.

We had a great holiday in this clean, tidy and spacious place. It's in a lovely spot in St Mawes, and the two main bedrooms have great views.
