The Idle Rocks

The three-course Set Lunch Menu was a real treat, with just-right portions for a sit-down midday meal. We had a delightful lunch at the Reef Knot on the last day of March, sitting in the sunshine with wonderful views over St Mawes harbour. At the hotel reception we were greeted warmly, then had an aperitif in the lounge before lunch. I'd recommend Idle Rocks and will certainly visit again. Thank you.

We live nearby and come often. Somehow they manage to raise the standard every time. The food is out of this world, and the service is exceptional. From the moment you walk in, everyone makes you feel welcome. Thanks to Karen, David and the amazing team for all the care they put into making this place so beautiful. J & T x

My wife and I spent six nights here, and the whole team was attentive and always available when we needed anything. They went above and beyond to make the stay memorable. From our arrival, the welcome was warm and professional, with real care and attention. The dedicated staff create a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. We'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stay where comfort and enjoyment are clearly considered.

I was a bit disappointed with Idle Rocks. For our honeymoon, I'd booked afternoon tea for Saturday 7/3/26 at 12.30pm, then called to move it to Sunday 8th. I was told there was no reservation and that they'd never served afternoon tea. That was odd, as I had the booking confirmation by email and had enjoyed afternoon tea on the terrace there in September 2020. They offered us lunch instead, but the menu didn't suit us, so we cancelled.
