We shared mussels to start, then had the burger and the hake daily special. Everything was delicious. The pub has a warm welcome, friendly, smiley service, and really reasonably priced pub food. I'd happily recommend it. Thanks to all the team, especially Paul, who runs The Victory, and the barman.

My brother and I first dropped into The Victory Inn in St Mawes for what was meant to be just one pint, to see this traditional Cornish pub. We liked the light, spacious bar and its tasteful refurbishment, but the friendly welcome from Paul, Sophie and the locals was what brought us back the next evening. We wanted to try Paul's promised fresh monkfish and squid, cooked by Sophie, and weren't disappointed. Paul, Alan and Andy looked after us right from the door. All the courses were beautifully presented and came out cheerfully and quickly, and the squid was delicious. Great atmosphere, lovely people, good beers and ales, and tasty food at fair prices. Can't recommend it enough. Best wishes to everyone there, and please don't change!

Alan gave us perfect service, and the food was fantastic. We had an excellent meal here and I'd definitely recommend dinner when you're in St Mawes. It won't disappoint.

The crab sandwich was so fresh, and the best I've ever had. Lovely welcome and good value for money. Highly recommend.
