Helen and the team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We stayed two nights last weekend, and everything was clean and nicely presented. Breakfast was a good continental spread. We also ate in the pub, where the beef lasagne with garlic bread and chicken schnitzel were both great. The atmosphere was good too. I’d definitely stay again when I’m in the area.

We found this place by accident and were so glad we did. The woman running it was lovely and very friendly, and our room was beautiful. There’s a self-serve breakfast room at the end of the hall, with gluten-free bread for toast. We had dinner downstairs and I’d recommend it. Have a stroll nearby too: there’s a beautiful little church and graveyard. It looks like something from a film, quite lovely and a bit creepy, with little gargoyles and all.

We had another great quiz night at the seven stars, and the whole family enjoyed a fantastic meal of gyros. Jim looked after us really well and kept us laughing. Thanks, Helen and team!

A proper quintessential British pub, the Seven Stars. The locals are lovely, the staff are great, and the food is superb. If you fancy a good night out or a daytime drink or meal, add it to your wish list. Helen and the team will take care of you.

I tried to book a table for 14 and was spoken to appallingly over the phone. I don’t know if the man was the manager or owner, but his manner was disgusting, especially when I was trying to arrange a booking for a big party. He said we’d need to pre-order because we were a large group. I said that was fine and that we’d check the menu online and send our choices over. He asked why we needed a menu since they only do roasts. I pointed out that the Sunday menu on the website lists other main meals too. He replied, “I’m not sure what size you think our kitchen is, but we can’t be doing other stuff as well as roasts.” His rudeness cost them a booking for 14. I don’t recommend this place at all.
