The farmer made us feel very welcome, and the tapas we had on Saturday evening was excellent. Compliments to the chef 👌. We stayed with family and friends over the weekend and had a great time. The farm has a good setup, with different kinds of accommodation and activities. I didn’t get to explore as much of it as I’d have liked, but I’m already planning another visit.
You’re surrounded by nature, sheep, and coos, and there’s a shop where you can get extra wood and coals for a barbecue. The bed was super comfortable, and the owner was a lovely chap who took time to help when needed and clearly cares about what he does. There’s also a sauna, plus places to kayak and fish. It’s such a special, comfortable glamping spot, and a great way to support locals. I think it’s my favourite place I’ve ever stayed, and I’ll 100% be back. :)
A quirky little spot for a quick escape, especially if you’re after somewhere quiet and relaxing. Book at least two nights so you have time to enjoy the yurt and the log-fired hot tub.
We travelled all the way from Australia, and this ended up being the highlight of our trip back to Scotland. Jamie and the team were great hosts, and we even got to hear the bagpipes, thanks Duncan. The Beehive was excellent, roomy, and had all the amenities we needed. The kids loved riding around on the buggy’s and playing on the zip line. The Sheppard Shoppy has a good range of food and useful things, which came in handy when I’d forgotten marshmallows for the fire. We had a wonderful, peaceful weekend at Sheppard’s Loch, right at the start of the season. Highly recommend it if you want a break from everyday life or a place where the kids can let loose.
We stayed for three nights midway through our Scotland itinerary, and it was the perfect peaceful break before the tour started up again. The accommodation was incredibly clean, the showers had hot water, and there was a little store for necessities. The owner and his daughter were lovely and accommodating. We really appreciated the welcoming feel and attention to detail. If we’re back in Scotland, this will be the first place we book again. Cheers from Canada.
