The welcome was alright, but being told off for laughing with my girlfriend at midnight because we were supposedly keeping the whole house awake really brought the stay down. It made us feel like young couples weren’t welcome. The room was so cold, and the shower was awful and freezing. Getting out into that cold room wasn’t fun either. There was no mini fridge or hair dryer, and neither towels nor sheets were changed. At £90 a night, I expected more, and the rooms could use soundproofing.

We had a really enjoyable four-day stay at Windsor Carlton, in room 5 Caroline. It was very clean and well located near the beach and town centre. Breakfast was a lovely start to the day, with lots of choice and very good quality. Host Paul & Ann were very nice and accommodating. We’ll certainly call in again. Alan & Cindy Frost

I really liked the room design, but it was very cold and the shower stream was weak. There was no fridge or hair dryer.
