There are lovely longer walks nearby, including routes to Rock for the short ferry to Padstow, or to Port Isacc and Port Quin, which are all worth a visit. The beach is about a pleasant 30-minute walk along the golf course, easier than trying to park in Polzeath during peak season. The Point golf clubhouse is also nearby, with a small indoor pool, tennis and a gym. We stayed in August 2025, seven of us, and found the house welcoming, spacious and very well equipped. Outside there's seating, a large table, chairs and a barbecue beside the house, overlooking a lake. The peaceful grounds are beautifully landscaped, with two small lakes and lots of wildlife. Nearby properties didn't bother us, screened by trees and plenty of planting. It's dog and child friendly. A handrail on the steep steps would have been useful, though. We'd highly recommend it.

This was our second visit with the dogs, and it won't be the last. The house is peaceful, quiet and always spotless, and it's being redecorated to a lovely standard. Polzeath Beach is around half an hour's walk away, along the golf course. I love this holiday home and can't recommend it enough for a stay with dogs.
