We never got to stay here. The owner cancelled the day before we were due to travel four hours, saying there was an ongoing heating problem. I’d seen another review mentioning the same issue over Christmas, a month earlier. We’d booked several months ahead, and a courtesy email about the heating before the cancellation would have let me and my family of five prepare. Instead we had less than 24 hours to find somewhere else. Very unprofessional.

Mike was lovely to deal with and said he’d sort anything we needed. Milk, bread, cereal and a bottle of wine were waiting when we arrived, a nice touch. The place was a great size for five adults, and the location couldn’t have been better. The bathroom door was a little awkward to close, though it wasn’t a big problem. Takeaway menus might be useful.

Apartment 5 was even nicer than I expected, and it was very clean when we arrived. The owners were really nice. We needed fresh bedding and towels, and they brought them round quickly. I enjoyed staying here and would come back.

I stayed here for my birthday last year and thought it was beautiful. A month later I booked it for friends, and when they caused some minor damage, I was blamed. Two days ago I asked the owner if I could stay again and he said yes, so I’ve just paid and booked the apartments. Now he’s taken my money and rudely blamed me again for that damage from months ago. I work as an agency carer, so booking a hotel or apartment is harder for me. I was really relieved when he agreed to let me stay. I’m working a 12-hour night shift followed by a six-hour morning shift, and now he’s let me down completely and charged me for nothing.
