The hotel itself was adequate, and its location would have suited regular visits to see our daughter nearby. We won’t be back after what happened with parking. At check-in, nobody said there was a charge. The receptionist asked us to fill in a form with our car registration, so we assumed it was for complimentary guest parking. I later noticed that the charge was listed on the Ibis website, but nobody mentioned it in person. A quick reminder would have prevented this. I had no problem paying for parking, but instead received two fines after our stay. My appeal was unsuccessful. I contacted the hotel several times by phone and email, but the replies weren’t helpful. My email address has now been blocked. I’ll leave it to readers to decide whether that was a coincidence or convenient, but it does raise concerns about how complaints are handled. The parking experience wiped out the positives of the stay.

We had a comfortable stay and the staff were good. The food and drinks were very nice, even with the limited menu. The Beef Madras could have been spicier, and tea at breakfast would be better in a larger cup. The dispenser water wasn’t boiling, so the tea was only warm. The car park’s EV chargers weren’t working because the app was very poor, rated 1.5/5. I’d definitely stay again.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay on a Caledonian Mystery Tour. For what we paid, it felt like more than a 3 star hotel. The staff were lovely and helpful, even when a few dishes ran out. They sorted that quickly. Breakfast was excellent, and the evening meal tasted home cooked, with lovely desserts and a good choice of mains. In my opinion, it deserves 4 stars for the service, food and staff.

This was the best Ibis we’ve stayed in. The room had plenty of space, a large bathroom and TV, and comfortable beds. There was also tea, coffee, a kettle and water in the room. The location worked really well for Leeds, Xscape and the outlet village. Highly recommended.
