The walk to Waldringfidld Quay takes about 15 minutes, and the Maybush Inn looks out over the River Deben. Back at the site, there’s plenty of room, with some lovely pitches tucked among trees and bushes. The facilities were clean and smart. If you don’t need an electric hookup, the wild camping pitches near the back are especially good, even for a larger caravan or motorhome.

We had another relaxing weekend at Low farm. The grounds are beautifully kept, though the surroundings still feel natural, and the toilet block is spotless. The new shower block is fantastic too. There’s a lovely riverside walk along the Deben to the Maybush pub, or you can head through the countryside to the Fox. Thanks, Jennifer and Jack.

This was our first visit in two years, and the site is now for over-25s only. We stayed in the camping area, so I can’t say anything about the rooms. There are powered pitches for a bit more of home, plus a wilderness area for those wanting to camp off-grid. Small barrel-shaped sheds are available if you don’t have your own shelter. The loos were good, with two showers for each sex and a washing-up area. There was fruit on the trees and blackberries everywhere. Entry is through a coded gate, and it always seems secure.

The location worked so well for us that we extended our stay. It’s a peaceful, spacious site, and our electric hookup pitch was great. The toilets and showers were spotless, and our dog was able to relax here too. We’d gladly come back.

There’s a beautiful pub by the river within walking distance. The campsite itself is lovely and quiet, with excellent facilities, and it’s very dog-friendly.
