Corfe Castle looked stunning in the distance from the garden, and the atmosphere was great. We had lunch on May Bank Holiday Monday, and the service was very good. Most of what we ordered was quite good, but the gammon steak was dry as leather. The triple-cooked chips were great and the crispy eggs were a good choice, though the prices still didn't feel worth it. Such a lovely pub in a fantastic setting, but the food was fairly mediocre. I was going to give two stars, but the excellent service and location brought it up.

The new outdoor shack is turning out brilliant burgers, especially the super tasty BBQ burger with coleslaw. There's also a beautiful garden with incredible views of Corfe Castle. Great pub.

The old building is interesting, and the garden is the main draw for me. You get a view of Corfe Castle from there, and sometimes can even see smoke from the steam train. On my last visit I was with a walking group that had booked ahead, with some of us ordering lunch in advance. None of those orders had been put through, and the menu had changed by the time we got there. The food was okay, but not great.

I've been coming to Swanage for more than 30 years, and this is my favourite pub in the Swanage/Wareham/Corfe Castle area. The garden is huge, with amazing views across to Corfe Castle, Poole Harbour and the surrounding area. Food, beer and service are all great, and every meal we've had here has been excellent. There are only a few tables inside, so book ahead for food. The kitchen has set lunch and dinner times, so check those too. The bus from Swanage to Poole passes the pub, though I'm not sure how far the stop is. We've always found parking either in the pub car park or on the street outside.

There's a proper old feel to this pub, and it looks stunning inside and out. It's dog friendly, with friendly staff, a good drink selection and amazing food and atmosphere. The huge beer garden has great views towards Corfe Castle and beyond. We'll be back.
