Warkworth House Hotel

A welcoming team and a popular local restaurant make this a great base for visiting Northumberland. The rooms aren't huge, but they're really comfortable. We loved the dog welcome pack, with treats, bowls and dog blankets. It's dog friendly, and there are easy walks along the river.

We had room number 2, which was spacious and came with a big TV. It was a lovely hotel with great staff. For tea and coffee in the room, they provide proper milk to help yourself to, instead of that horrible UHT stuff. We had to leave early, which was a pity, but we'll be back.

We've stayed at this lovely hotel several times with our 2 dogs. It's very dog friendly, with bowls, towels and treats in the room, and the staff are always friendly and stop for a chat. The cosy rooms are clean and comfortable, and the traditional food is excellent and tasty. Nothing is too much trouble for the team. A huge thank you to Sharon, who managed full service and breakfast on her own on our final day because the snow kept the other staff from getting to work. We'll be back.

The area was so quiet that sleeping with the window open was easy, and there was plenty of room for all our biking gear. Our group arrived on 3 great big motorcycles and got them parked securely. We loved the clean, comfortable room, friendly staff and fabulous food. Dinner was delicious, proper good food, and the staff were lovely and helpful the whole time. It's just right. I also loved that this is an independent family hotel with character, not a big chain. Highly recommend.
