The reception staff did seem helpful, but I wouldn’t stay here again. We’d booked a double and were given a twin. They had no problem changing it, but after seeing the other room, we went back to the first one. Both the rooms and corridor smelled damp, and the rooms felt depressing. When I pulled back the duvet, big black dots were visible through the bedsheet on the mattress. I’m not sure if it was mould, but it didn’t look good. There were rat or mouse traps in the corridors, and I noticed bin bags outside doors on the way to our room. The place seemed to be rented out under some government plan for emigrants and people who couldn’t get housing, which made me feel unsafe leaving our things behind. Cameras were in the corridors, but the rooms had connecting doors to the next room. The bar wasn’t in use, and instead they sold cans at extortionate prices.

The room we’d booked wasn’t available when we arrived, and the receptionist was incredibly rude, slamming the key on the desk without saying a word. Then they gave someone else the key to our room and checked them in, apparently without realizing I was already inside. Absolutely unacceptable. The whole hotel reeked of smoke, and the carpets were filthy, held together with duct tape. Outside my room, the previous guest’s half-eaten McDonald’s was still sitting there. The TV barely worked, with only half the screen visible, and the room was in a badly neglected state. This was without a doubt the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. The only good part was leaving. Paddington House Hotel, Warrington, a nightmare stay. I don’t normally leave reviews, but this was truly awful.

The photos looked nothing like the place. I honestly thought I’d come to the wrong address. The rooms were shabby and gloomy, with no decor or essentials like tea and coffee. There were cracked tiles, broken curtains, dirty laundry, stained floors held together with tape, leaky ceilings and rude staff. Such a waste of money. I wish I’d never booked. I don’t know how this place is still running. Avoid unless you want to be disappointed.

The place stinks. The walls were mouldy and had holes, the whole building reeked of smoke and melons, and there were no decent TV channels. Even the rooms made no sense, and management doesn’t seem to listen to reviews. I hated the experience and don’t recommend it. I asked for a hotel, not a homeless shelter. 🙏 Edit: In room 17, you can easily force the door open even with the lock on.

After four room changes in an hour, I left. I saw four rooms, all smoke-stained, with used bedding and broken baths. The wallpaper was coming off the walls, there were holes in the walls, the TV had been stolen, and the place smelled. It’s dirty and badly maintained, and seemed to be used for emergency housing. Don’t stay here.
