After major surgery, I had a long, lonely week feeling very unwell. Sam in the restaurant looked after me from the moment I arrived and made it so much easier. Nothing was too much trouble, and she went above and beyond. She knew so much about the hotel, deals and internet, and is worth her weight in gold. I hope I can come back one day and see her promoted. I was put in the annex. The rooms were beautiful, brand new, very clean, with comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. The male cleaner, who I think was called Simon, was very kind and helpful. One chef working Saturday was superb too. He came out to check my order, cooked it perfectly and did it with a smile. A real asset to the company. The food was amazing. All the employees were kind and helpful, and mindful that I was vulnerable. The manager, who is also a trained chef, was experienced, friendly and helpful too. A big thank you to the team. I really recommend staying here. A few things to know: the air con is a little noisy but easy enough to turn off. The annex windows don’t open, which gets stuffy on a longer stay, so I’d probably recommend the main building. Other than that, it was a brilliant stay.

Reception helped us switch rooms so we’d be away from the main car park, and they sorted out a TV issue. They were professional and kind, and the cleaners were cheerful and friendly too. The staff at this Premier Inn were great. The only thing keeping the room rating to four stars was the lack of air con, though it isn’t available at this Premier Inn.

The staff were so kind, and the family room was really comfortable. We arrived at 10pm and check-in was still easy. My dad helped out during an incident, and they gave us breakfast for free. I’ve stayed in more than 40 Premier Inns, and this one was a good experience. It’s easy to reach from the M6, has a lift, and you can open the window, which helps when rooms get stuffy. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The restaurant let the stay down. My hunter’s chicken was extremely dry, and the full English the next morning didn’t look appealing. The sausage was the only good part, and I had to pick carefully to find pieces that looked cooked. I reckon I’d have eaten better at the McDonald’s next door. The Premium Plus room itself was very nice. There wasn’t a smart TV, though it did have an HDMI port, and I didn’t bring a cable for my laptop.

The restaurant attached to the hotel was superb, and the food was great. Inside, the room was clean and spacious, the usual Premier Inn standard, and good value. The building’s exterior looked in poor condition, which was worrying, but the inside didn’t match that impression. Getting around on foot isn’t ideal, as there’s little nearby apart from McDonald’s. Parking is free if you enter your registration at reception. I was disappointed there was no EV charging, and the fast charger I used at McDonald’s was extortionate.
