I went to look at a room because we have a function coming up and I wanted to see the place for myself after reading the reviews here. They’re in the middle of refurbishing, so some rooms are done and others aren’t. The one I saw was still basic, but it was clean and fine for sleeping in for a night. Zoiey at reception was brilliant. She was so helpful, answered all my questions and offered to show me the rooms. Great customer service.

We didn’t need to stay at The Waterside, just needed a venue after my mother’s funeral. From booking through to the care and service on the day, everything was absolutely amazing. Many thanks to Hayley, Events Manager, her team and the staff on duty. Thank you.

The bed was really comfortable and the room was warm and nice. The shower pressure could have been stronger, though it’s far from the worst I’ve had in a hotel. For two people, one tea and one coffee felt a bit stingy.

The restaurant food was great and reasonably priced, and the staff were lovely. The room was basic but very clean, with a spotless bathroom. The shower controls were odd, and the bath filled while I was showering.

The friendly staff welcomed us when we arrived, and the atmosphere was great. The food was perfectly cooked and presented. They made our day special, and I’d highly recommend the place.
