The rooms are clean and practical, perfectly fine though not luxurious. The service is outstanding, and all the staff work hard. Chloe was amazing yesterday, such a lovely lady. Nits Thai is a great addition, and her food was delicious.

The Rodney is great value for a straightforward, honest stay near town. Whether you’re after a clean room, food or a drink, they have it all. Sarah keeps the rooms spotless, and every member of staff goes out of their way to help. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

I booked a room at the lord Rodney for this weekend and paid through booking.com. I entered my card details and the booking showed as confirmed. I got the keys, then within 40 minutes the owner was banging on the door. He gave no explanation at first, and when I said hello, he told me to let him in or he’d break the door down. Once inside, I asked what the problem was. He said the payment hadn’t gone through, although I showed him proof that it had. He then demanded another payment. I paid again and decided to leave. I’ve drank in the pub before without any problems, but this was 1000% out of order. Be careful before you book a room at this pub.

A friendly, decent pub with a good choice of lagers and beers. They show all the sports on TV, and it’s right next to the Wires Rugby ground.
