We’ve stayed here before, and the setting and location are just wonderful. On arrival, the staff greeted us warmly, and a lovely lady whose name I didn’t catch showed us to our room and explained the facilities. The room was bright and clean, and since we had our dog Angus with us, there was a treat box for him. Breakfast was fantastic, with great juices and pastries before the freshly cooked food. I had the Swan breakfast with sourdough, and my wife had poached egg on sourdough. Both were delicious.

We’ve visited The Swan over the years, and it’s a beautiful pub with consistently good food and atmosphere. This Sunday roast was another great one, and we’ll definitely be back. The trio roast was generous and nicely presented, with excellent meats and especially good pork. We added the tasty cauliflower cheese for an extra charge. Desserts were a highlight too: the carrot cake with ice cream was fantastic, the crumble could be added for £5 after a main, and the cheese board had an incredible selection. We also ordered extra bread, which wasn’t included, and the staff were helpful throughout. We’d booked for the bar but were seated in the restaurant, and both settings are lovely, so it didn’t matter. Our first Bloody Marys were unfortunately extremely spicy, but staff quickly sorted them out. Service slowed a little at times, though it was a busy Sunday and understandable.

Really tasty Sunday roast, with portions just the right size, in a beautiful pub. The staff were warm and welcoming. We were having a tough day, and they helped us find a Tesco by giving us directions, then sent us off with a piece of cake on the house. Such a thoughtful, kind thing to do. 10/10, would recommend.

Such kind, lovely staff. We were craving something sweet after the shops had closed, and they gave us a dessert for free. It’s dog friendly and people friendly, too. The roast portions are big, beautiful, and really good quality, and they’ve got the best non alcoholic beer on tap. Highly recommend the pizza nights as well. Don’t miss the morning pop up bakery, which runs twice a week. Divine.

The hotel is well placed for a few lovely walks, all easy to get to, with amazing views over the Avalon Marshes. We had a really lovely stay: the room was great, the food was excellent, and all the staff were friendly and professional.
