Blackbird House, Apartments and Studios

The room was clean, modern and had everything we needed. Having a kitchenette was especially handy while travelling with a baby. We could hear some road noise, but the double glazing muffled the traffic really well. We had a great stay.

Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked to order, and we had a very good dinner too. I had the excellent turkey and ham pie; my wife chose scampi, then fruit crumble and custard. The staff were welcoming throughout our one-night stay. It’s on a fairly busy main road, though traffic noise didn’t bother us. We’d happily stay again.

We were made to feel very welcome by the proprietors, who were super friendly. Chatting with them felt like catching up with old friends. The place was perfectly located for our trip to South Devon, and we were glad we could bring our little dog. My wife loved the full English breakfast, while I stuck to cereal and toast because I’m on a health drive. We’d definitely stay again.

The steak was perfectly cooked and delicious, and the garlic mushrooms were superb. Our food came promptly and piping hot. The young lady who took our order was attentive without hovering, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Fantastic meal and service. I’ll be back and recommending it to family and friends.
