Swan Mews

I live locally, so can’t speak to the rooms, but I’ve had some very good Sunday roasts at the Swan. I also like dropping in for coffee because it’s such a relaxing place to sit. The garden, with its view of the cathedral, is a favourite spot of mine and somewhere I take visiting friends. The staff are always lovely and welcoming.

This was our second stay, for my birthday, and the cathedral view from our room was spectacular. The room was lovely, clean and tidy, with inviting decor. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The staff were amazing, especially manager Barbra, who always makes us feel special and goes above and beyond. She even left a birthday card from the whole team in our room, a lovely touch. Definitely recommend.

The dog treats waiting in our room were such a thoughtful touch, and breakfast was delicious. We found the stay at The Swan Wells great value. Everyone we met on the team was friendly and professional, and genuinely helpful from the moment we arrived. They seemed happy to be there too. Highly recommend it.

The hotel was warm throughout, which was especially welcome during a very cold spell, and it was quiet at night so we slept without disturbance. We loved the location and spent time enjoying the clear view of the Cathedral's magnificent West Front from our second-floor four-poster room. The two armchairs and little coffee table were perfect for sitting with freshly made coffee or Earl Grey tea. The bed was comfortable, though I wasn't keen on the pillows. The hotel itself is lovely and old, and we had a very comfortable two-night stay. One personal quibble: I didn't care for the music in the breakfast room. It felt unnecessary and out of place to me. Even so, I'd happily recommend the hotel. Thanks for a lovely few days.
