The staff really made this stay. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and so helpful, and they did everything they could to make it a good visit. The rooms were spacious and cosy, in a lovely little town, and there’s a coffee area, a bar that welcomes dogs, and a restaurant. Each has an open fire, which must be lovely in winter. We had amazing food and gorgeous cocktails, too. Don’t miss out on booking here. 10/10, and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Our first visit to The Royal Oak in Welshpool was an unplanned lunch stop, and it was a very pleasant surprise. The menu had plenty of choice, with several nice areas to sit. We enjoyed the food and drinks, and the service was both friendly and professional. We’ll come back, thank you : - )

We’ve stopped here for lunch on our way across Wales for two years running now. The food and drinks are excellent quality and good value, and the service is attentive. We’ll keep making it a stop on the way to the West Coast of Wales.

The food was fantastic at breakfast and dinner, with a wide choice each day, and they handled all our dietary requests without any fuss. Our room had everything we needed, even a Robert’s dab radio. There were four of us, plus our black Labrador, Nel, and everyone looked after us so well during our four nights over Easter. It’s a genuinely dog friendly hotel, with staff who spoiled Nel rotten. Dave gave us a warm welcome, and Laura and her whole team were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Scotty, the night security guard, was friendly and chatty when I came down early each morning to take Nel out, and made a big fuss of her too. Thank you, Scotty. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again next time we’re in the area. Highly recommended, and a huge thank you to everyone for making our short Easter break so enjoyable.

We spent a few hours here over coffee and wine in really comfortable surroundings. There were snacks for us, and a party seated behind us seemed to be having a great time celebrating over food that looked delicious. The place is beautiful and the wine was very good. I’d recommend it for all sorts of occasions. It’s also a hotel, and the rooms look comfortable in the pictures.
